Amsterdam: An Espace Cartier for the “Venice of the North”
Amsterdam is a fascinating city to visit. Spend a pleasant hour walking from the stunning Eye Filmmuseum overlooking the IJ waterfront, to the house of Anne Frank and the museum dedicated to her tragically short life, or simply wander through the fascinating, canal-side streets. After that, before making your way to the Van Gogh Museum, why not stop for a moment to admire the new Espace Cartier, created by Polverini within the famous Schaap en Citroen jewellery store?
The Polverini team were in Amsterdam at the end of March 2021, working on the 16 sqm Espace restyling project. As usual the team constructed and installed the walls, cladding, back-lighting for the wall panels, shelving, TV frame and mirror. The classic Espace materials of wood, eco-leather, wallpaper, gold painted metal and LED lighting were used to create an elegant and harmonious space, which was enhanced by the finishing touches that the team placed: logo, ornamental elements, TV screen, display case and freestanding furniture (counter, table, lamp and chairs)
Schaap en Citroen is ideally situated close to the main attractions of the city, known as the “Venice of the North” due to its network of over 100km of canals. It is no surprise that the historic canal ring is protected by UNESCO, and a boat cruise around the area is highly recommended. There are also about 90 islands and 1,500 bridges to explore, stopping at one of the many lively restaurants and bars along the way.
If you are thinking of planning a trip to Amsterdam, April is the perfect month to admire the stunning displays of tulips, in 85 location around the city. The festival dedicated to these exquisite flowers, historically so important for the Netherlands, lasts the whole month.
This colourful jewel of a city is truly the perfect setting for Polverini’s latest prestigious project.
