Parisian Glamour
Charles de Gaulle, Paris, is one of the it the world’s busiest airports and we have just finished a large Burberry store in the duty-free area of Terminal 1. An unusual feature of this terminal is that it was designed in the image of an octopus, with a circular terminal building surrounded by seven satellites with boarding gates which are connected to the central building by underground walkways.
Our team engineered and built the new, 50 sqm boutique within the bustling shopping area. It was completed in November 2022 and features the brand’s classic colours of beige, gold, black and white with contrasting textures. Polverini did the millwork for the frames and panels with various finishes. We created furniture with a modern concrete-look finish, shelves in glass and steel or lacquer, various display rails for ornaments, belts and clothes as well as mohair-covered seating. Glass and galvanic-gold metal were used for counters and display cases, and the ceiling was mirrored.
The terminal closed in March 2020 due to the Covid crisis but reopened in December 2022, after several months of modernisation work including upgrading the duty-free area. Paris is always a delight to visit and we loved working on this project, where the overall effect is so bright, scintillating and optimistic for the future!
